Fundraisers
The West Corners Lions Club has served this community for more than sixty years, and our fundraisers are how that service gets paid for. Every chicken dinner sold, every Christmas tree carried to a car, every turkey raffled off turns directly back into the community — into scholarships for local students, food for area pantries, and help for neighbors facing a hard season. When you support a Lions fundraiser, you’re not buying from a business. You’re funding the work.
Below are the events we run every year. Dates and details are posted closer to each event — check back, or follow us on Facebook for announcements.
Chicken BBQs
Our chicken BBQs are a West Corners tradition, and for a lot of people in the area they’re the first time they meet the club. Members are at the pit early in the morning, and the dinners are ready by midday. We run several of these throughout the year.
A Lions chicken BBQ is a fundraiser, not a restaurant — we cook a few times a year to raise money for the club’s community work, and every dinner sold goes back into scholarships, donations, and local service projects.
Turkey Party
Our Turkey Party is one of the club’s annual fundraisers, held every year around Thanksgiving. The money raised goes directly back into the club’s community work.
Christmas Tree Sales
Every December, the West Corners Lions Club sells Christmas trees. It’s one of our largest annual fundraisers, and it’s a way for the community to get something they need anyway — a tree for the season — while supporting local service work.
If you’d like your Christmas tree purchase to support a community organization rather than a commercial lot, this is it. The money raised funds the club’s giving throughout the year.
Where the money goes
Every dollar raised at a West Corners Lions fundraiser stays close to home. Our fundraising supports scholarships for local students, restocking area food pantries, support for families facing emergencies, and cards and visits for residents of area nursing homes. You can read more about that work on our Service page.
Support a fundraiser
The simplest way to support the club is to show up — buy a dinner, pick out a tree, come to the Turkey Party. If you’d like to get more involved, or your business would like to sponsor or host, get in touch through our Contact page.
